Maximise the Benefits of the
Resilient Retrofit and Home Raising Programs
RESILIENT RETROFIT PROGRAM
This Resilient Retrofit Program offers homeowners to upgrade (increase resilience) or restore dwellings to include flood-resistant designs and materials in their household. It also grants the option to raise or move services needed to maintain the habitability of the residence. Initial funding for the maintenance or restoration efforts is $50,000, with an additional 50 cent added for every dollar that goes beyond the initial amount.
HOME RAISING PROGRAM
The Home Raising Program allocates grants to assist homeowners in increasing the elevation of their home in order to minimise the effects of potential flooding. The objective is to bring habitable floors to meet or exceed the minimum flood hazard level as stipulated in the local government planning scheme. Subsidies are available up to a maximum of $100,000 for the raising works, with an additional 50 cent on every dollar surpassing the initial fund.
